V I B E: Modern Elegance, Jewel Tones, Nostalgic to the 1920’s

When Sara and Matt first came to us they mentioned that they were both attorneys, so naturally we assumed they would want a more conservative and refined wedding- boy were we wrong! The more we got to know them and talked about their vision for the day, the more we fell in love with them! Ridiculously COOL, edgy, laid back, and super fun is how we would describe Sara & Matt – the perfect ingredients for an epic celebration! The reception took place at the Estate on Second, a venue that was previously a Southern California gas building used as a secret prohibition-era establishment for local libations. Staying true to the building’s history, Sara + Matthew went with a speakeasy theme highlighted with moody jewel tones, dim lighting, live music, and whiskey. Another fun fact about this venue: The Chiarini Fountain, locate right outside the Estate’s front door and an icon of the Artists’ Village in Santa Ana, was dedicated to Matt’s grandfather, George C. Chiarini (Matt even gave the dedication speech). Our favorite part of the day – when Sara and Matt ran out to the fountain for romantic photos despite the pouring rain! (proof below) Details details, there were so many from this perfect day. The paper goods to start! Designed in emerald and burgundy watercolor with gold gilding to compliment the modern & edgy essence of the day. Vintage lounges consisting of velvet, fur, and metallics were scattered throughout the venue adding a cozy yet luxurious touch. Catering also carried the eclectic modern vibe of the evening with interactive food stations where guests could build their own poke bowls, street tacos, or indulge at the loaded mac n’ cheese bar. Guests danced the night away to music that slowly progressed from 1930’s blues, to 1950’s and ‘60s rock n’ roll, through modern day party music.
